Hello, World. Welcome to OurMiniCloud.

Why self-host? We’ve all grown used to clicking “Sign Up for Free” without a second thought. But there is a massive hidden cost to the modern internet: when you aren’t paying for the service, you aren’t the customer, your data, your private life, and your attention are the inventory. You are the product.

Every day, we upload our lives to data centers owned by tech giants. We hand over our photos, our thoughts, and our private metrics, receiving a shifting landscape of sudden data breaches, corporate surveillance, and algorithmic noise in return.

We refuse to be bought and sold anymore. We wanted something different, our own little cloud, built completely on our own terms. So, we are building it.

This isn’t just a login page. It’s the boundary line where corporate surveillance stops and our privacy begins.

One Motto: Our Hardware, Our Data, Our Rules.

We don’t rent our digital life anymore; we host it ourselves. OurMiniCloud is our very own little piece of the internet, running right inside our own home. It exists on hardware we can physically touch, controls data that only we can access, and runs on systems secured behind our own login screens, on our own terms.

Un-Censorable by Design

While we run this website on a hosting service for convenience today, we completely own the platform it is written on. Nobody can censor what we write here. If our hosting company ever decides they don’t like our words and shuts us down, we don’t disappear. We simply spin up a new instance somewhere else, restore our website data, and we are back online. Even if that means self-hosting it straight out of our own closet later on.

The host is just a utility. The content is entirely ours. That is the power of true digital independence.

Why Self-Host? It’s Not About the Flex

If you spend five minutes on any homelab forum, you’ll see people flexing massive, power-hungry enterprise server racks humming in their garages. While that’s fun for some, you don’t need an industrial setup or a massive IT budget to reclaim your digital sovereignty. You just need a tiny bit of hardware, an open-source foundation, and the desire to own what is yours.

This space is dedicated to keeping self-hosting simple, clean, and practical. We will be sharing minimalist guides on how to take back your data, deploy portable applications that you control, and ensure your digital setups remain completely independent of corporate gatekeepers—minus the unnecessary flexing.

Grab a Seat

The internet used to be made of small, independent spaces before the tech monopolies took over. We are bringing that feeling back, one small server at a time.

Welcome to OurMiniCloud. Stick around, and let’s take back what belongs to us.
